What have I been up to...major catch up

A lot has been happening. We are finally moved in and starting to get settled. We have a huge pile in the middle of our garage to either take to the dump or donate/garage sale. I have been ruthless in getting rid of stuff. It feels amazing! Matt has been working really hard at helping me get everything organized and my Mom was a HUGE help as well. It was a wonderful and much needed visit. We are still working on sorting through and organizing the basement but it'll come in time.

We will be up in Calgary next weekend for my Aunt's memorial service. We are going up for the whole weekend and my cousin from Hawaii is coming as well as my Aunt and Uncle from Utah. It will be nice to see them all.

Life is good! Enjoy the pictures.

I LOVE this picture

Hot dog roast. Why is it that you can eat many more roasted hot dogs than you can boiled or fried

We suffered another loss. Brandy got old and had to be put down. She will be missed.

Going shopping with Grandma

Tanner's first time at Peters'. What did he have???? JUST fries!

Not all these fries were Tanner's. We shared them.

My A-M-A-Z-I-N-G milk shake.

The cutest little nephew!

Could you not just die at the happiness of this boy???

Driving a tractor

riding....a dog???? lol

The magical chair. This was a chair in my Aunt's hospice room. It lifted up so you could stand right out of it. The boys thought it was the greatest chair.

My VERY red lipstick that I love

My crazy friend Susanne...we went to Time Out for Women together

Randomness Tuesday

-this weekend while cleaning/hanging out at our new house, i cut my finger. then yesterday when i was helping amelia cut some fabric, i cut my other finger.

-remember my green wedge shoes i got? well, i got another pair of the exact ones except they're red! i love them!

-i am trying out the new katy perry perfume. i actually like it quite a bit. i am starting to get into perfumes a little more. i have an estee lauder one that's ok but i'm kind of getting bored with it. do you have a signature scent or do you have lots of different kinds of perfumes that you wear for different things?

-my mom is coming (for real) on friday!

-a few people have asked me what we want for a housewarming gift. i keep telling people that we are going to wait and move in before we'll kind of know. we're not really sure what we need/want. any ideas?

-my sweet angel child has been not so angel like lately. he is most certainly my child in this aspect. stomping off to his room and giving that most lovely huffing/grunting/pouting noise...yeah, you know the sound. it just really makes my days when he acts so wonderfully...

-does it ever bother you when you're at the mall and people take up the WHOLE isle? walking is like traffic. pick a side and stick to it.

-i can not go into a store that has a royal wedding magazine issue and not stop to look at it. the most recent one i read said that the duchess of Cambridge will get a $325,000 yearly spending allowance. now i calculated that out per month and it works out to be $27,083.33/month. how crazy is that? if you were her friend, wouldn't it be intimidating trying to figure out what you could give her that she couldn't just buy with all that money?

-i think everyone needs red lipstick. it makes your teeth look whiter and every time i wear it, someone asks if i have lost weight (which i don't believe i have by the way). it's just an all around booster

A big thank you!

I just want to say a big thank you for all your comments lately. I have really appreciated them. It really means a lot to me that you are excited for us. We are so happy that we finally get our dream of having a house. I can honestly say that although there have been some personal frustrations, I have not shed any tears over the process. We have been so blessed and we are so grateful for all the help we have gotten up to this point and know we will get in the future. I have decided not to go into the house until move in day on Thursday (unless I have to clean on Wednesday). Most of the stuff that needs to be finished is hook up stuff (central air and vac, cable, phone) so otherwise most of it is done.

Faucets!!!

I just have to say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE my faucets! I am so so so happy with them! I am not too proud to say that I did an awesome job at picking these! ha ha

Our stove arrived early!!! Hooray!

I J'ADORE this ensuite sink and faucet so much.

Isn't she beautiful???

Tanner's bathroom sink...aka the main bathroom. I love that the plumber put the sinks off to one side of the counter and not in the center so that we can actually use the counter for stuff.

The main bathroom.

Kitchen faucet

I wasn't sure I'd like this but I do. It's very modern and unique. That's not a soap dispenser on the right, it's the handle to turn it on.

One more of my ensuite faucet! I think I might live in the bathroom for a while. I couldn't be more happier that we got the faucet we both really loved...PLUS the sink. We have been very lucky and very blessed in this whole process.

On a side note: I am addicted to the show on TLC "Extreme Couponing". Have you seen it? Holy crap, I want $800 worth of groceries for less than $100! It sucks that Canada doesn't have the same kind of coupon deals that they do in the U.S.A.

Wanna see our kitchen/cabinets????

I've mapped out where everything is going. I'm SOOOOO excited!

You can see the green in this picture a little better than before.

This is our flooring. I just washed it today. I know, I know...they're going to get it dirty again but I just wanted to wash it.

I took this at 8pm. So this is an evening shot

Our closet. I'm still trying to decide what I'm doing with it.

This is a good picture of the difference of the paint colors.

Tanner's bathroom. It's hard to tell but it's blue.

10 for Wednesday

I ADORE random posts. They are to my eyes what stand up comedy is to my ears. J'adore them! So I will follow suit and post a random post for right now.

1. I really dislike when people have double standards. Like if you don't want your kids to drink pop or won't let them drink it (this is JUST an example so I don't need any comments about on weather or not I give Tanner pop...I do) then don't drink pop yourself.

2. Time Out for me was like a vacation away from my real life.

3. What is up with Quinn Fabray??? She is like so mean and Rachel has actually turned into a nice person. I totally loved the big yellow dress, though.

4. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do on Monday's from 2-3. That's when my dance class was and now that it's over...well, I'm kinda sad about it.

5. Friday nights at Susanne's resumes this week!!!! YAY YAY and YAY!! I got a new cookbook at the TOFW and we are going to try some of the recipes.

6. We are garden sharing this year as we won't be able to have a garden in the new house until next year. I have already started appreciating more deeply the blessings of having a garden in your own backyard.

7. The toughest question I've had to answer in the past week is "How did Aunty Caryolyn's spirit get to heaven? and Does she sleep up there?" Tanner has an unspoken understanding of what has happened and he has been really good.

8. Tanner is doing great in his coach pitch! He hit the ball 5 times in a row (albeit they were foul balls, but the other kids struggled with hitting the ball). His catching needs some work (the other kids were pretty good at catching) but he's having fun and seems to be enjoying himself.

9. Would you rather be famous or a Royal??? I'd rather be famous because if you're a Royal, you are famous until you die. When you're famous, you can stop being famous if you stop working. And I've never heard of a famous person dying (or murdered) from the paparazzi chasing them.

10. I am hunting and on the look out for a free standing porch swing. I want a good quality one but don't want to pay more than $300 for it. Maybe that's unrealistic, but I'm hoping.

11. I need some good dance type music. Music that makes a person want to dance. Any suggestions??? I just downloaded Britney's till the world ends but I can't listen to that all day otherwise I might get bored of it real quick.

12. What are your favorite dates? I'm always interested in knowing what other people do for their dates. We've been trying to do some different things this year. Normally we love the movies but we've been bowling and going to dinner and other things where you actually have to communicate. A lot of our "dates" recently have been going into Lethbridge and getting stuff for out house or picking stuff out etc. But now that we are moving into our house soon, what will we do instead????

pictures pictures

I don't have pictures of the carpet and vinyl but those will come in the next day or two. The house is going to be a very busy bee hive on Thursday and Friday. Cabinets, counters, plumbing, stairs are all going to be done Thusday and Friday. OH! and concrete too.

By the way...

It's been a while. I honestly haven't felt like blogging for a while. It's been a really busy and long 2 weeks. For those of you who don't already know, my Aunt passed away last Thursday. She had been sick for about 5 years and so we knew it was coming. What a blessing it is to have the gospel and know that we will someday be together again. She will be missed dearly.

Our house is coming along nicely. I have yet to me motivated enough to post pictures. I was very nearly there last night but then decided to go to bed. But just to update you...

The outside of the house is finished. They are pouring the driveway and walk way today or tomorrow. The painting is complete. The flooring went in yesterday...it's beautiful by the way! The cupboards and counters are supposed to be here today or tomorrow. The plumbers and electrician will be here tomorrow or Thursday to finish and the stairs to the back deck and front veranda should be being built before the end of the week. Possession is supposed to be Friday so move in will begin Saturday!

I was able to attend Time Out For Women in Calgary this past weekend and what a wonderful experience it was. It was so uplifting and such a great boost to the past 2 weeks.

Anyway, that's about all the update that I have for now.
