Dear Santa:
I have actually been really good this year and I don't really want that much for Christmas because in all honesty, I have everything I NEED. I just WANT a few things to make my life a little funner...I know it seems selfish, but it really would benefit everyone around me. Here is my Christmas list:
1. I love knee socks. Maybe not these particular ones, but you get the point.
2. iTunes gift cards in any amount. I really would love to have the soundtrack to the first season of Glee ($99) but a few of these would help to go a long way.
3. An iPod dock. I love to listen to music and it would be nice to have the music other than in my living room.
4. The complete first season of Glee's soundtrack. I just love the songs and would be so very happy with this.

So Thankful
How much do I love Matt????
SO very much!
Today after I semi-complained that it's really hard for me to come home on Tuesday and Wednesday's after work and try to run the house when he could do most of it during the day while he's home, what did he do??? He shoveled the walk, made a deliciously yummy chili for lunch, washed the kitchen floor, cleaned up the living room and tided up.
I am so thankful for Matt. He is really and truly my soul mate and he is always there for me.
When he's sick (he has a bit of a chronic cough and it acts up sometimes...that's his "sick") he sleeps on the couch so that he doesn't keep me up all night with his cough
He makes lunch for Tanner and I pretty much every day of the week
He is seriously THE BEST Dad EVER!!! He plays with Tanner and takes him to school in the morning when I've gone to work. He takes Tanner to appointments when I can't. He meets Tanner after school at his classroom to see how his day was and say goodnight (Matt works until 11pm at the school). He is the best story teller ( I do not have the talent in the least). He goes to Tanner's student led conference. He builds Lego with Tanner. He rubs his Tanner's leg's when they're sore/hurting from growing...apparently I don't do it right/like Daddy.
Matt teaches me to slow down and not rush so much.
He cleans the bathroom like nobody I've ever seen. He cleans it even better than me sometimes(it takes him 30-45 minutes but he does it).
He takes care of Tanner and I when we're sick. He gets us drinks and soup and switches DVD's so we can stay in our warm bed.
He gets up with Tanner in the night if Tanner has a bad dream or needs a drink (I had my night's when he was a baby and Matt slept right through crying and acid reflux vomiting etc.) I do get up with him if Matt doesn't, but Matt usually jumps out of bed before I wake up.
He buys me treats from the gas station. I'm not really a big flower person...I'm more of a chocolate or slurpee treat kind of person.
He always is happy to go to the Temple together
He did a really good job at surprising me on our date last month. He did a great job and we had a lot of fun
I don't know who else would/could be so patient with my antics/craziness...lol. He's really very, very patient
He never judges me
He says I'm perfect and that he loves me for all that I am...craziness and all.
I am really thankful for Matt.

The projects...finally
So I can't take full credit for this cake. Actually I can't take much credit other than just baking it. I had this vision of having a Lego cake(s) so I asked my good friend Jenn if she would help me do fondant icing on it because I thought it would look a little better than just regular icing. So she agreed and this is the amazing job she did! I couldn't have been happier with it. The red was regular flavored, the blue was almond (it tasted just like sugar cookie icing) and the yellow was peppermint(it tasted exactly like candy cane). They were all very yummy.

I did these blocks for Erica.

These blocks were for my Sister Megan.

This is a wreath that I made. It was really easy.

The quilt I made for my nephew Emerson. The back is Minky and it is super warm. I was really happy with the way it turned out.

Projects
This is the ONLY Halloween picture of my little guy. Both Tanner and I had the flu that day (so sad, I know) so we did not get to go out at all. He's still pretty cute, though.
These are the cupcakes I made for his birthday party. It was a HUGE hit and I can't believe he is 7! I can still remember the day when we were so worried if he would make it through the night of his first transfusion.
The un-iced cupcakes (directions in a following post)
How do I stay on top of things??? I have a calendar hanging on my front door on the inside so I can look at it every time I go out the door to see what's up for the week/day etc. It's a second calendar to my kitchen one. It's my life line.
This wreath was so easy and I am in LOVE with it. I'm all about wreaths right now.
I have some really yummy recipes I'm going to share in the next few days...so if you like food, come back.

For all of you who live in Ray-town or Lethbridge, check out THIS giveaway. It looks like so much fun!
We had a fantastic weekend! I got a few things at Michael's...they have great sales on right now. Plus I am working on a couple different projects for gifts. I'll post pictures when they are given to the individuals.
We went to our 'trek' daughter and husband's place for dinner on Sunday. We have a tradition with them that we have spaghetti and eat it without any forks, knives, spoons or hands. It's really fun and Tanner LOVES it.
We are getting ready for Tanner's birthday party this Saturday. It's going to be a lot of fun. We're going to the movie Megamind and having a party at the theatre.
Tanner is finally back at school after being away for a week because of tonsillitis.
Well, I think that's all for now.

Happiness
When I was a little girl, one of my favorite books was a Charlie Brown book called "HAPPINESS". It was an odd little book because it was different from all my other rectangle books. It's a square book with orange pages. Yes, all orange, no color. But oh how I loved that book.
Recently I re-discovered this little gem in my sisters tub of her books (my sisters are always trying to steal stuff away from me....and they say I was the bully...LOL! KIDDING).
Anywho, it has my name in it (we did this often as kids to "claim" our things) so I brought it home for Tanner...and let's face it...me too. It makes me happy just thinking about this cute little, loved book. So every once in a while I am going to attempt to do a "happiness" post. I am thinking next year, I'm going to make it a goal to do one every day. So for a start here is my post today of 'happiness':
HAPPINESS IS:
having a washing machine
laying down at night and finding that perfect spot almost right away
playing scrabble
love
being able to eat without getting sick afterwards (NO, i'm not expecting)
reading to your child(ren)
the sun on your back
listening to the new Taylor Swift CD
eating popcorn in bed with your husband while watching extreme makeover:home edition
a glass of cold milk
having meaningful conversations with people/friends and feeling smarter and more knowledgeable
looking forward to the possibility of building a house starting in the spring
having your husband take care of you and your child while you're both sick with the flu on Halloween.
watching "girl" disney movies while sick
having your back scratched
Happy Wednesday everyone!
