Big dreams!
If I had money to do this I totally would!
And if I had a girl, I would totally spoil her with this:
I typed in "luxurious bedrooms and this is what came up:
I don't know about you, but this is NOT my definition of luxurious. That's my definition of dangerous!

Today at our house
It's been a great house day! I'm feeling on a bit of a high. The heating and plumbing were there today, although I didn't see what they did if they did anything. The electrical looks done...well as done as they can be until they put in the lights.
The one garage wall is done. The other wall is mostly done but not completely.
Tanner wanted to take a picture of me in the house so I was just being silly
Standing in my room being silly
Tanner wanted another picture in his room. I will always be happy to oblige
They marked where the stove is going.
I'll just apologize now...there will be LOTS of stair pictures. I am really excited about them because they represent that we will FINALLY have a house with a basement! Which means Tanner will have a play room downstairs and the toys will stay there.
Tanner in his "man cave"
Little man in his toy room
T.V. room/corner. Oh, did you notice that the ice walls are starting to go up? Well, they are.
Always a treat to see this sight!
Oh yeah...just a picture of the stove we ordered. It has a 5th burner for simmering...how exciting is that.
The house this morning.
The back of the house. I just think it looks so cute and perfect.
SIDING!!!! AHHHH!! So stinkin' excitin'. The big siding reveal will come later, as in when it's on and the windows are in.

Have you seen my house lately???
It's me again! I realized I haven't put up house pictures in more than a few days...what a shock.
They have to move the kitchen window over 4 inches (I believe it's 4") because of the cupboards. Yes, they have been measured! How exciting is that? We are planning a picnic at our house next week after church. And maybe if some of the drywall is up, we'll play 1 of Tanner's 2 favorite games...hide and seek or hot and cold (basically hide and seek with an object). If everything goes according to plan, we should be at lockup stage by the end of the week so we'll be enclosed at our picnic.
Looking down the hallway out the front door
Do you know where Matt is standing?
Do you know what this is???
They boarded up the windows upstairs and downstairs so that the snow wouldn't blow in and get everything wet.
They put up the half wall!!! Is it weird that I am excited that they put up a half wall??? Well, I don't care because I am totally excited! That whole wall going down the stairs is going to be a picture wall of all my friends and Matt and Tanner and us and my family and my trek family and anyone or anything else I deem important and that I love.

Speed
My life has been moving at such a rapid speed lately that I do not like what I have let it done to me. Normally, I'm totally on the ball about birthday's...in the last 4 weeks, I have missed or delayed or forgotten several birthday's of some really important people! I was reminded today what it means to be a good friend and I really hope that I can slow down enough to be able to be the kind of friend I use to be and really want to be. Sometimes it is hard for me to express with vocal words how deeply I am grateful for the things people do for us. I really am so very lucky to be blessed with such amazing people/friends/family. I just really hope that people know that I really am grateful.
I think I have a slight addiction problem. I think I'm addicted to hanging out with my friends! Whenever I'm at my friends' house, I don't want to leave even though I have piles of laundry that need to get done and bathrooms that need to be cleaned. I would rather fold other people's laundry and clean their bathrooms and clean their kitchen's than go home and do mine. I did finally get caught up on laundry this week. You know it's bad when your 7 year old asks if you're doing laundry because he has no more socks to wear and you haven't even noticed. My plate runneth over at times. I just need to focus on my responsibilities and just do it!
I'm getting excited more and more every time I go over to the house so that helps me to get motivated to do what I need to at home.
I was reading this week about the upcoming Royal wedding and I thought about how lucky I really am to not have to worry what the world thinks of me or how I dress, or what I eat etc etc. It's so nice to have a normal, non-invasive life. Obviously there are certain people who are born and meant for royalty or celebrity but I'm glad I wasn't one of those. I'm glad that I can go out in my P.J.s and sweat shirt to the local grocery store and not have the paparazzi all over me and taking my photo. Some people like being dressed up and dolled up for even going to the gas station and if that suits their fancy, well good for them. But I don't always like to be gussied up. If I want to hang out in my comfy clothes and eat KFC without being criticized for how I eat it, then I can. We all have role models and maybe some of those role models are perfectly preened and use proper etiquette, but to me, that feels really fake and contrived. If you are a good example, then you're probably a good role model. But I don't think you have to be perfectly dressed all the time, or use proper etiquette in order to be a good example. I do think that there's a line...obviously we wouldn't take the President of the U.S.A. too seriously if he always showed up everywhere in his p.j's but I think it's your actions AND attitude that speak louder than what you say. There is a time and a place for all things and I'm just glad that my life is pretty dull and normal.
Sorry for rambling on. I just was thinking about that and wanted to get it off my mind.
Well, I guess that's all for now folks. So until later this week (with hopefully more house pictures...because the shingles and siding are there and will probably be up this week!!!!).

These pictures are slightly out of order but it's not a big deal.
We went over today to meet the electrician this morning and they had started digging this for....actually, I can't remember what it's for. Sewer maybe???
Tanner watched these guys for about 30 minutes after school today. He had a blast playing on the dirt piles. Although he got kinda close to the back hoe a couple times, he was pretty safe.
Matt and Mike worked on these stairs yesterday and got them finished. Don't they look great! Now we can go downstairs to "play"
Tanner will have a "man cave" under the stair well. He's really excited about it. I'm pretty sure it will just basically be a smaller play area with toy shelves etc.
This is the side of the garage looking through to the other side. It's completely done today but I'll have pictures tomorrow.
See...out of order. These were the beginning of the stairs.
The roof is completely on...well, it's all sheeted
What a great looking house!
*************************************************************
We went into Lethbridge today to look at the 2 places the plumber is getting our stuff from. We went on an impromtu date to Pizza Hut...I know, how romantic right?
It was perfect and exactly what we...well more me...needed.
I will try to post pictures of our choices for faucets and sinks later. But for now, I must go and feed myself and Tanner some dinner.

For Kristi
I read Kristi's blog and thought I'd post this for her:
You can see other posters HERE

Happiness this week so far:
-the roof is sheeted on our house. they are ordering siding and shingles this week or early next week so by the end of the month we should have it sided and shingled!
-matt is going to pick up our washer and dryer today. we found a set that's 8 months old for a steal of a deal (less than $500) so we're pretty happy about that.
-we got our stove ordered. we are putting in a gas stove and ordered it from Sears.
-our income tax return came. we are setting aside most of this money into savings. we did use some of it towards some house stuff but a very small amount.
-tanner is joining a marathon club. this will be good for all of us as i am hoping that we, as a family, be more healthy and active together.
-i can finally keep up with my fellow cloggers! i am really enjoying clogging this year and although i am quite nervous about the performances, i am also excited.
-registering with susanne for time out for women. i have never been but have always wanted to go so i am looking forward to that
-spring break in calgary. tanner and i are going up for a little vacation. he also has a doctor's appointment so it works out. i am excited to spend time with my friends...finally! then at the end of that week, we are going to drumheller to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the chapel being built (or maybe it's the 50th anniversary of the church being out there??? i can't remember which one but it's a big deal). my Dad's family grew up in drumheller and that's where i was born.
-i'm looking forward to getting the town's summer event guide so i can get tanner into swimming lessons.
-we found those big, oversize foam puzzle type foam blocks at Canadian tire. since we aren't having the basement developed right away, we wanted to make sure that tanner had some sort of 'flooring' to play on and not get cold. there will be some scrap carpet on the one side of the basement (the t.v. side) but we don't want carpet on the other side because it's shag style carpet and we don't want tanner's lego to get lost in the carpet. hopefully, he won't play with the lego on the carpeted side of the basement, but that may be wishful thinking. i can always hope and remind him can't i???
-something odd i discovered about myself this week; i have never been able to open a box of KD (on the side) without first stabbing it with a fork or knife. my mom could always just poke her finger or thumb through that side where it's perforated but i have not even been able to do that. you would think that i would just open the top of the box, but no...i am determined to one day be able to poke that hole in the side where you're suppose to open it. how silly is that??? lol
